The Clique Artworks’ Series Intersections Reimagines Istanbul for Yapı Kredi Private Banking – Levent
The Clique Artworks conceptualizes the urban landscape as a dynamic space where layered encounters occur. The city’s silhouettes, interwoven with dense architectural networks, are fragmented and reassembled through sharp geometric planes. These interwoven forms, cutting through the canvas like shards of glass, take familiar city lines to new dimensions.
Intersections is not only a portrait of the urban space, but also a way of thinking about the crossroads we find ourselves in every day: a reflection of moments where cultures meet, decisions collide, and new directions sprout.
Yapı Kredi Private Banking – Levent is the sixth office project The Clique Artworks has realized for Yapı Kredi. For this project, the Intersections series was reinterpreted, placing the bank’s own city at its center: Istanbul.
Nine original works were created specifically for the space. Each piece was designed with the scale, light, and color texture of its location in mind. Rather than being selected from an existing collection, the works were conceived for this space and in dialogue with it.

The series reconstructs the city’s intersections through some of Istanbul’s most familiar views:
- Galata Tower and the Golden Horn: The city’s historic fabric is reinterpreted through overlapping planes of color.
- The Bosphorus Bridge: A structure joining two continents, and one of the strongest symbols of the series’ idea of intersection.
- The Maiden’s Tower and the Üsküdar shoreline: The calm rhythm of the Bosphorus turns into a dynamic composition of geometric forms.
- The Levent and Maslak skyline: The rising towers of the branch’s own district. Guests rediscover on the wall the city they see through the window.
The urban fabric, rendered in shades of gray, forms a calm and balanced ground for the works. Planes of color laid over this ground fragment the architecture and transform it into an abstract composition. Rhythm, density, perspective, and the tension between order and spontaneity are the series’ core means of expression.
A Color Language in Dialogue with the Space
The branch’s interior is built on earthy tones such as warm white, sand, camel, tobacco, and mocha, balanced by navy and steel blue. Rather than imitating this palette, the Intersections works enter into dialogue with it. The gray ground preserves the controlled, serene character of the space, while ochre, coral, turquoise, cobalt blue, and dusty violet bring a contemporary vitality.
Nine Works, Three Scales
The works were produced in three scales according to the different functions of the space:
- 165 × 110 cm (3 works): Executive offices and meeting areas
- 85 × 120 cm and 120 × 85 cm (4 works): Offices and transitional areas
- 180 × 100 cm (2 works): Meeting and conference rooms
All works are oil and acrylic on canvas, and each one is unique.
